Welcome to Seaview Downs Primary School
Seaview Downs Primary School, a happy and proud school of 250
students
from Reception to Year 7, has a reputation for engaged
and motivated
students, professional and committed staff and
highly supportive parents/caregivers. Established in 1969, the
school has a close community
feel, where everyone works to
support each other. Maximum effort is put
into offering rich
learning programs that support and challenge all learners
to
achieve their best.
Special senior student programs include 'Tournament of
Minds', 'Festival of
Music', 'Pedal Prix', ICT and SAPSASA
sporting events. The school priorities
are literacy and
numeracy, with significant support given to students at risk
and
to challenging those with high skill levels. We have a clear
focus on
healthy eating, increased physical activity,
anti-harassment strategies,
student wellbeing and the
development of resilience and self-confidence.
Science will be a
2010 priority.
Whole class, choral and instrumental music
are
strong features, while Japanese is taught as the language other
than
English. We have a Christian Pastoral Support Worker for 15
hours per week.
A school gym/hall will be built shortly.
